JDRF Georgia Celebrates the 2015 20th Anniversary Hope for a Cure Gala

Gala CollageMore than 40 years ago JDRF was founded by dedicated parents who made a promise to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D). Since that time, thousands in Georgia have made that same pledge by supporting events that raise money for research, giving us hope that a world without T1D is only a step away.

On Saturday, May 9, 2015 the JDRF Georgia Chapter will host its signature black-tie event, the Hope for a Cure Gala, at the Intercontinental Hotel Buckhead. Chaired by dedicated donors, Jill and John Kampfe, this will be a milestone event for the Chapter as it marks the 20th anniversary of the Gala. Since its inception, the GA Chapter Gala alone has raised more than $20 million for ground-breaking research. Please join as we celebrate 20 years of progress in turning Type One into Type None.

This year, JDRF is excited to honor long-time contributors and former Gala Chairs, Laura and Rutherford Seydel, for their unwavering support of JDRF and commitment to the type 1 community. The Seydels will be the first recipients of the newly-minted Barbara and Duke Roos Living and Giving Award.

Hosted by HLN anchor, Robin Meade, the evening will include cocktails and seated dinner, exciting live and silent auctions, and entertainment by Atlantaā€™s favorite band, Yacht Rock Revue.

Individual tickets to the 20th Anniversary Hope for a Cure Gala are $350 per person and table sponsorships start at $5,000.

If you would like more information about the Gala or are interested in donating an item to the auction, please contact Brett Mangum, Development Director, at bmangum@jdrf.org.
